The Eagle-Wolf Trail

Description
This fascinating trail inspires walkers to dig deep into their imagination whilst on the hunt for the legendary Eagle-Wolf. An easy and enjoyable walk, it is ideal for families who can also discover some of nature’s riches along the way.
Departing from the Farettes power station, this approximately one hour and 2.5 km walk unravels the magical tale of an eagle and a wolf conceived in one and the same egg… Lining the trail are seven totem poles in the image of this mythical creature. Each of them bears 3 plaques inscribed with part of the Eagle-Wolf legend, including a quote as well as a useful historical fact. Walkers glean some interesting information about the forest and the biotope while there’s also a special story designed for children. Created in 2005 the trail was totally overhauled and reinvented in 2016 by apprentices from Aigle’s forestry department. The operation not only succeeded in proving a hit with walkers, it served also as a great motivational project for the apprentices involved.
