Description
Starting in Bretaye, this 5 km snowshoe walk leads through peaceful winter landscapes of glacial lakes and mountains bordered by fir forests.
The route starts at the Col de Bretaye. When the Villars - Bretaye mountain train arrives, cross the pretty hamlet of Bretaye and its wooden chalets in the direction of the Bretaye lake. The lake is on your left. A little further on, the Lac Noir can be seen on your right near the start of the Lac Noir-Chaux Ronde chairlift. The rest of the walk is wilder; you move away from the ski slopes and reach the Lac des Chavonnes and the restaurant of the same name. Make a stop and either sit inside in the mountain chalet atmosphere or on the terrace to contemplate the beautiful landscape. On your way out, leave the Lac des Chavonnes behind and head towards Vy-Boveyre, Conche and back to Bretaye.

ACCESS - The start/finish of this route is in Bretaye. - Access is possible by train from Villars to Bretaye. Departure every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the period. SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS Find out about the weather and snow conditions. Take a map or a plan of the route. Respect the signs and prohibitions. Turn back if in doubt. Take a drink and a mobile phone. Take your rubbish with you. Out of respect for the fauna and the environment, keep your dog on a lead and pick up its droppings. You enter the snowshoe trails under your own responsibility. The tourist offices cannot be held responsible for any accidents, loss or problems caused by the forces of nature.
