Les Chaux - Solalex

Description
A rather difficult hike that starts at Les Chaux (accessible by gondola from Gryon from July to October) and reaches the Solalex mountain pasture. On your way, discover unique views of the Argentine massif, between forests and alpine chalets.
The start of this hike is at the top of the Chaux cable car. From the beginning of July to the end of October, the cable car links Barboleuse (Gryon) to Les Chaux. On arrival, the panorama that awaits you is grandiose: the Miroir d'Argentine, the Grand Muveran, the Dents du Midi, the Rhone Valley, a glimpse of the Grand Chamossaire (the highest peak in Villars) and the Diablerets massif. Along the path, you cross the small hamlet with green-roofed chalets, the view of the Argentine massif is one of the most beautiful and impressive in the region. On the slopes you reach the Solalex mountain pasture and find yourself at the foot of the Miroir d'Argentine. On arrival, the Refuge de Solalex welcomes you for refreshments. If you are looking for a cooler place, you can dip your feet in the river that runs through the heart of the mountain pasture.
Practical Information
ACCESS : - Access is possible from this itinerary thanks to the Barboleuse-Les Chaux cable car (from July to October) or by shuttle bus (June). - From Solalex, it is possible to return by bus during the summer season from Solalex (pay attention to the timetable). - Return to Barboleuse from Solalex by footpaths, allow about 2 hours. SOME INSTRUCTIONS : - Stay on the marked trails - Hike with knowledge of your route and the weather - Take care of the flora and fauna - Do not leave any rubbish behind you - Respect private property - Close gates and fences behind you - Keep your dog on a lead
