UCI GranFondo Switzerland in Villars
Description
The UCI Gran Fondo World Series is stopping off in Villars on 5 and 7 July 2024! Road cycling takes centre stage in the Chablais region!
In the heart of the Vaud Alps, the famous mountain resort of Villars is the setting for a weekend of festivities for cycling enthusiasts. With two different race formats (time trial and road race) and four different routes, this event is aimed at both competitive riders and amateur cyclists looking for a personal challenge or a family day out to share their passion for cycling (in all its forms!). FRIDAY 5 JULY - A time trial between Villars-sur-Ollon and the Col de la Croix. Over a 7km course with 440m of ascent, participants will set off from the charming village of Villars-sur-Ollon to finish this time trial at the summit of the Col de la Croix. SUNDAY 7 JULY - A long-distance race starting from Villars-sur-Ollon. There are three magnificent courses of varying difficulty starting from the Place du rendez-vous in Villars-sur-Ollon: - The GRANFONDO: 148 km | 3'700mD+ (1'000 miles) - The MEDIOFONDO: 95 km | 2'500mD+ - La RANDO: 56km | 1'900mD+
