Modernisation work on the Bex–Villars–Bretaye (BVB) line is progressing as planned. After several months of work, the Transports Publics du Chablais (TPC) have announced that train services between Bex and Villars-sur-Ollon will resume on 30 November 2026, with the first train of the morning.
Since 16 March, major works have been carried out simultaneously along different sections of the line. During this period, the connection between Bex and Villars has been operated by replacement buses.
Key works carried out include:
The progress of the works allows the TPC to confirm that train services between Bex and Villars will resume on 30 November 2026. From this date, trains will also run across the new Barboleuse bridge, alongside road traffic.
Finishing works will continue over the following months, without affecting rail services. These works will notably prepare the line for the arrival of new trains, scheduled for delivery in 2028.
Before the official reopening, the overhead contact line will be re-energised from mid-November. Trains may therefore run along the route before 30 November.
For safety reasons, the TPC remind everyone that it is essential to stay away from the tracks and not to carry out maintenance work or any other activities in the vicinity of the railway line.
The resumption of train services between Bex and Villars marks another milestone in the modernisation of the BVB line and in preparing the route for the arrival of its future trains.
