The end of the year has that slightly exciting, slightly unsettling feeling. It is about celebrating both an ending and a new beginning at the same time, with everything each implies. What is certain is that the winter atmosphere always brings its touch of magic to this very special evening and night… And it is the people with whom we share these moments who give them all their meaning.
To mark the arrival of 2026 and celebrate this new page turning, there is no shortage of festivities in the Alpes Vaudoises. Are you ready to write this new chapter with us?
Nestled at the bottom of the valley, the village lights up softly, as if wrapped in the benevolent majesty of the surrounding massif. The hum of lively conversations rises from the festive apres-ski events throughout the village, while the festive menus are being prepared: in addition to the dishes offered by the village restaurants, The Glacier Hotel is hosting its traditional New Year’s Eve gala dinner, featuring a five-course menu. The usual fireworks display will bring the evening to a close at the stroke of midnight. And for those who wish to gain some altitude, the Cabane des Diablerets offers its New Year’s Eve and Little New Year Crocs & Raclette evenings at 2,486 metres above sea level!

Snow has covered the plateau, enveloping the village of Gryon in an atmosphere that is both crisp and gentle. The new year will be welcomed here with music: under the shelter of the chalets, on Barboleuse Square, the Association of Secondary Residences of Villars and Gryon invites you on 1 January to share some mulled wine or cinnamon tea. The Gryon brass band will travel through the village, giving several concerts throughout the afternoon. The following day, on 2 January, the Temple of Gryon will host its traditional New Year classical concert by candlelight, taking listeners on a musical journey through Latin jazz, klezmer and gypsy music.
Leysin’s panorama opens onto snow-covered peaks as far as the eye can see, like a true suspended terrace facing the mountains. To celebrate the new year in style, a buffet will showcase sunny and exotic flavours: you will enjoy dishes inspired by the Caribbean! After dinner, two options await you: on one side, an 80s disco atmosphere; on the other, electro, tech house and hardstyle will keep you dancing until the early hours. Two rooms, two atmospheres, one shared goal: to mark the transition into the new year and celebrate the occasion properly!

A breeze blows over the Col des Mosses, carrying with it whispers of snow, magic and celebration. They lead you to the Cabane des Monts Chevreuils, where a four-course menu awaits you in an enchanting winter setting. If you prefer to stay on the plateau without gaining altitude, you will also find something to delight you there: the local firefighters’ association of the municipality of Ormont-Dessous is organising a special “Silver & Black” evening. After the aperitif and festive meal, the celebration continues with a dance open to everyone from 11 pm onwards… plenty of opportunity to dance until the end of the night!
Suspended between sky and earth, Villars reveals itself nestled in the mountains, beneath the starry December sky. You can welcome the year 2026 in an outdoor live music atmosphere: the evening’s DJs will get the crowd dancing on the Place du Marche. At midnight, be amazed by the traditional fireworks display, launched from the gardens of the Villars Palace. Light refreshments and a friendly atmosphere will also be available on site, thanks to the various stalls of the extended Christmas Market and the P’tit Chalet, which will remain open throughout the night.

The magic of the festive season becomes even more tangible when people come together, sharing these moments of warmth in the cold, beneath the illuminated fir trees. A gentle, welcoming buzz spreads through the villages, wrapped in immaculate snow, frozen in the sharp cold of winter, yet more alive than ever.
May the December stars watch over your celebrations and protect your moments of sharing and joy.
