Description

Les Mosses is the Eldorado for enjoyable cross-country skiing through magnificent natural landscapes. The charming route starts either at the Maison de l’Espace Nordique or at the Arsat ski lift from Pra Cornet.

Setting out from the Nordic House, the trail begins with a slight incline before descending towards Fond de l'Hongrin. Then begins an easy climb followed by a long descent towards Arsat. Enjoy the circuit and follow the track that climbs up to the junction. This ascent is quite long. At the crossroads, turn left to go to Pra Cornet, a track that leads to the forest. After a good climb through the woods and then the fields, you reach the sunny plateau of Pra Cornet. Once on the plateau, you can either go directly to the Pra Cornet refuge via a small loop, or go around the plateau to the left, clockwise, before reaching the refuge. For the descent, take the same path through the woods. Coming out of the woods, at the junction, go straight ahead to join the track that will take you straight to the village, or left via the Preisettes track if you still have energy for a few more metres, before joining the track that leads down to the village on the edge of the forest. And here you are again at your starting point, after our most sportive cross-country skiing tour.

Practical Information

Trek time : can vary enormously depending on the discipline (classic or skating), the snow conditions as well as individual physical fitness ; it’s calculated at an average speed of 7.5km an hour.
