Description
The Park has set up a botanical trail above Château-d'Œx, the "sentier des Choucas". The opportunity to discover a magnificent heritage of flowers and trees.
You can choose between three variants to walk the botanical trail Parking de la Dent - Cabane des Choucas : Itinerary on marked mountain trails. Between the fork and the Cabane des Choucas, the path is equipped with short ladders placed against the rocks. The itinerary is secured by cables, but remains a delicate passage for people not used to the mountain. Elevation gain : 350 m. Walking time : 1 hour to go and 40 minutes back by the same path. 12 labeled plants in the forest at the bottom of the path and 25 labeled plants near the Choucas hut. Parking de la Dent - bas des Mérils (or les trois Fenils): Itinerary on a marked mountain trail without difficulties. Difference in altitude : 170 m. Walking time: 40 minutes to go and 30 minutes to return by the same path. 12 labeled plants in the forest at the foot of the trail. Parking de la Dent - Cabane des Choucas - Les Mérils - les Trois Fenils - parking de la Dent : Itinerary in loop on marked mountain trails. Two difficulties: one between the first fork and the Cabane des Choucas; the other between the Cabane des Choucas and Les Mérils with a section passing through three gullies dug in the slope. The itinerary is secured by cables, but there is a risk of vertigo for people who are prone to it. Elevation gain : 400 m. Walking time: 2 hours.

Opening hours : July - August in principle every day On beautiful weekends from May to October. The presence of the flag on the mast in front of the hut (flag visible from Château-d'Œx) indicates that the hut is open.
