Ollon
The town of Ollon extends over a vast territory. In the charming village of Ollon, there is a relaxed way of life.
In and around the streets, you will find some very beautiful historic buildings, including the Château de la Roche, a venerable building whose origins date back to the Middle Ages.
Exposed to the south, at the foot of the Pre-Alps, the hillside vineyard of Ollon benefits from a hot and dry climate, influenced by the foehn. Grape varieties with unique flavours are bottled by the winegrowers of the region.
Gradually gaining altitude, you can discover the 23 scattered hamlets that lead to Villars.
The small village of Saint-Triphon is one of them. Renowned for its “black marble” quarries exploited from the 16th to the 20th century, the stone of St-Triphon was already used in Antiquity. Many buildings throughout Switzerland were built using stones from St-Triphon.
The summit of the municipality, the Grand Chamossaire culminates at an altitude of 2,112 metres above sea level.
