Solacyre Refuge

Description

The infectious enthusiasm of its volunteer workers rubs off on all visitors to the Solacyre Refuge. In the heights above Leysin, Solacyre fondue evenings are characteristically nostalgic affairs. You could say that part of the ski resort’s history is ingrained in these very restaurant tables.

The Solacyre restaurant was built at the top of the Solacyre chairlift in 1960, in the former ski area of Leysin. The chairlift had been closed for many years and so had the restaurant. But a team of volunteers who love the place wanted to reopen it for nature lovers to enjoy. You can reach the chalet on foot in summer or with snowshoes and ski touring in winter, starting from the Chamois quarry. Once you arrive, you will be amazed by the view of the mountains. The terrace or the warm wooden atmosphere of the dining room is ideal for enjoying a fondue.
