Access to the Cascade du Dar
The Cascade du Dar reveals itself through a beautiful 1.5-hour hike from the village. For those looking for a quicker option, a more direct route is available from the Col du Pillon, with only 15 minutes of walking along a stunning mountain trail.
From the Maison des Congrès parking lot or upon arrival via the mountain train, follow the La Corbaz path (near the Denner grocery store). Continue to the forest entrance. The trail begins with a gentle incline along the Grande Eau stream and gradually ascends through alternating dense forest and open alpine pastures, leading to the base of the waterfall. The path remains pleasant and accessible throughout the journey.
For thrill seekers / Via Ferrata
The Cascade du Dar is more than just a spectacular natural site — it’s also a paradise for adventure lovers. On the right bank of the stream, an impressive via ferrata climbs along a small cliff. Nicknamed “the cascade route”, it’s rated “D” (difficult) and offers breathtaking thrills with its exposed and aerial path.
For seasoned alpinists, the waterfall was first climbed in 1975. It stands 120 meters high, with slopes reaching up to 85° at its steepest point.
