Restaurant-Musée La Fromagerie
Rue du Village 4
1854 Leysin
Discover La Fromagerie, one of the oldest chalets in Leysin, where Swiss cuisine meets history and conviviality. Located in the charming old village, this 18th-century chalet welcomes you around large solid wood tables to share a fondue or enjoy a cosy mezzanine for a more intimate meal.
For over 30 years, La Fromagerie's menu has featured typical Swiss dishes: fondues, raclettes, cheese croûtes made on site, homemade rösti, grilled meats and meats cooked over a wood fire. The menu changes with the seasons, offering unique dishes for each period of the year.
Don't miss the cheese-making demonstration, which takes place several times a week: a master cheesemaker curdles milk in an imposing cast-iron cauldron heated over a wood fire in the centre of the restaurant. A fascinating and delicious spectacle!
On the second floor, immerse yourself in the history of Leysin with a reconstructed 18th-century mazot: more than a thousand everyday objects, from furniture to toys and posters, tell the story of the Leysenouds' life through the centuries.
La Fromagerie is much more than a restaurant: it is an experience where flavours, tradition and heritage come together.
