Native to the coastal regions of Florida, this tree arrived in Europe at the end of the 17th century. It is mainly used for ornamental purposes, and seems to be very fashionable in Aigle these days. Its star-shaped leaves turn reddish-purple in autumn, particularly when the tree is in full sun.
