Weekend in Villars: Ideas for Summer Outdoor Activities with On Vagabonde

We were delighted to welcome Audrey and Benji (On Vagabonde) to Villars in July 2026 for a stay centred around the mountains, cycling and adventure. Passionate about outdoor activities and travel, they explore Switzerland and the world in search of new experiences to enjoy and share. From e-biking and e-gravel to hiking, mountain stays and new discoveries, they explored Villars and its surroundings from different perspectives.
From Villars to Taveyanne and then on to Solalex, they hopped on their electric bikes for a beautiful adventure through the heart of the Alpes Vaudoises. Their stay also gave them the opportunity to discover local specialities in iconic mountain settings, spend a night at the foot of the Miroir d’Argentine and admire Saype’s ephemeral artworks during a hike in Villars.

Meet On Vagabonde!
Audrey and Benji are passionate about mountains, travel and outdoor adventures. Through their content, they share their experiences, practical tips and ideas for discovering Switzerland and other destinations.
Hiking, trekking, van life or sports activities: they love hitting the trails, experiencing new adventures and sharing their stories to inspire their community.
After a road trip of more than a year from Seattle to Panama, followed by seven months travelling across South America in their van, they are now exploring Switzerland.

- A e-bike and e-gravel ride starting in Villars, passing through Taveyanne and continuing to Solalex. With e-bikes (mountain bikes or gravel bikes), the trails can be enjoyed without too much effort!
- A delicious meal at the Taveyanne Mountain Refuge, in a hamlet listed as a historic monument.
- Dinner at the Solalex Mountain Refuge, facing the Miroir d’Argentine, followed by an overnight stay at the Miroir d’Argentine for an exceptional experience.
- A hike in Villars to discover the ephemeral artworks by artist Saype.
