A treasure trove to explore for nature lovers, adventure seekers, or those looking for peace and quiet. Here are the top aquatic experiences to enjoy during your summer holidays!
Nicknamed “the pearl of alpine lakes,” Lake Lioson is a must-see. Nestled in a mountain cirque, it’s the perfect setting for a family hike or a picnic with your feet in the water.
Nearby, the Lioson Lake restaurant welcomes you in a friendly atmosphere with a panoramic terrace overlooking the turquoise waters. The perfect spot to enjoy a local specialty after your hike.

Accessible from La Lécherette via a beautiful hike through pastures and forests, the Hongrin Dam is not to be missed. This massive curved concrete structure, harmoniously integrated into the alpine landscape, holds back a vast royal blue artificial lake.
It plays a key role in the production of renewable hydroelectric energy and offers spectacular views of the Hongrin Valley.

The brand-new Sépey Historic Bridge Trail crosses the Sépey River and the Grande Eau, highlighting several ancient bridges, including the Pont de la Tine and the old Pont des Planches, renovated in 2024.
Blending wild nature and heritage, this new trail offers a unique immersion into the history and scenery of the Alpes Vaudoises.

Whether at Lake Lioson or in small mountain streams like the Raverette or the Hongrin, fishing is a popular activity at Col des Mosses.
Enjoy the absolute calm and untouched landscape as you try your luck at catching trout in a postcard-perfect setting.

Set out on a beautiful escape through alpine pastures and preserved nature. The trail follows the peaceful Pra Cornet stream at times, with a welcome gourmet break at the Charmilles refreshment chalet.
You’ll also walk along the Hongrin River, which originates from Lake Lioson, and pass above the Arsat marshes, rich in wildlife. A varied walk, ideal for recharging in nature.

By June 2027, the Natural Pool, a new swimming area designed to blend in with its surroundings, will open near the Espace Nordique des Alpes Vaudoises. This innovative project will provide a place for relaxation, exploration and observing biodiversity.
In the meantime, those who are keen to find out more can already keep an eye on the progress of the work whilst enjoying a bite to eat at the site’s café, which is set to open in summer 2026.
