Swiss National Day - Leysin

Traditions and a bit of madness on the programme for the Fête nationale in Leysin!

The traditional ceremony at Le Corbelets, with the Rose des Alpes brass band, will mark the start of this festive day with the raising of the flag and the firing of the cannon. Afterwards, there will be a lantern-making activity for young and old, subject to registration. The aim of this activity is to prepare the procession that will take place between the Place du Marché and the Place Large.

In the village :

Colline du Corbelets:
6am: Diane, flag raising, coffee & croissants offered by the Commune of Leysin.

Aigle - Leysin race :
From 8am: Alpes Vaudoises Half-Marathon

Place Large:

Throughout the day, there will be light refreshments and a variety of entertainment.

• From 11.30am: Alphorns - Trio Solacyre
• From 3pm: Start of the entertainment (climbing wall, face painting, bouncy castle, etc.)
• From 3.30pm: Creation of lanterns for the procession (registration required from
  Leysin Tourism)
  
  
• 7.45pm - 8.15pm: La Rose des Alpes brass band
• 8.15pm: Official part with a speech by Jean-Marc Udriot, Member of the Grand Council and Mayor of Leysin, followed by the national anthem and the children's procession.
• 8.30pm - 10.45pm: Concert by Red Star System
• 10.45pm: Fireworks (subject to weather conditions)

From 11pm, the evening continues in the bars of Leysin:

• L'Embuscade in the village centre
