Alpine climbing course – 4 days

This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced climbers looking to become more independent on multi-pitch routes and in adventure terrain. Under the supervision of a certified mountain guide, participants will refine their techniques for climbing, safety, placing protection, setting belays and abseiling.

Programme:

• Day 1 – Leysin: Review of essential safety techniques, progression on a training multi-pitch route and an introduction to placing removable protection.
• Day 2 – Leysin: Advanced training on multi-pitch routes and adventure terrain, including rope management, placing protection and abseiling.
• Day 3 – Cabane d’Orny: Ascent to the refuge and practical alpine climbing exercises on granite to master manoeuvres specific to high-altitude mountaineering.
• Day 4 – Aiguille d’Orny: Completion of an alpine multi-pitch route to put all the skills acquired into practice under supervised autonomy.

The aim is to develop your independence and confidence to climb alpine multi-pitch routes safely.
