Storytelling night at Château de la Roche

On the programme:

5.30 pm: Of Winter and Snow
Claire Heuwekemeijer, a storyteller, will recount three or four stories, punctuated and accompanied by a few melodies evoking the cold and the sound of a Tibetan singing bowl. These stories speak of winter, snow, silence, sharing, starry skies and light, wherever it may be.

6.00 pm: Open-faced sandwich festival

8.00 pm: From Father to Daughter. A musical performance by the ContaCordes theatre company
A king and his daughter shared a life of unclouded happiness. Until the day she disappeared. On a passionate and tireless quest, the king’s messenger sets out to find her. Along the way, he recalls their favourite story, dreams of a girl who bears a striking resemblance to her, and travels through gardens, rice fields, deserts and mists. He wanders, perseveres, sometimes takes a wrong turn, travels back in time, before flying off towards the golden mountain where he may, perhaps, find her again. Two voices, four hands and a cello take you on a multi-layered journey to encounter a rich human mosaic, made up of daring young girls, overwhelmed parents, lovesick couples and ‘old-soul’ babies.
