In a space steeped in history, they explore printmaking, painting and writing through a multifaceted graphic approach. This exhibition invites visitors into the heart of their gestures and materials, revealing the precise, fragile and decisive moment when the gaze meets the space.
Alessandra Parente has been working in printmaking and engraving since 2018. She favours direct engraving techniques and, by playing with the application of ink, her abstract compositions take shape. Her constant technical exploration combines academic rigour with freedom of movement. Her spontaneous, chaotic or essential gestures are a constant source of surprise.
Bastien Conus is an artist who practises suminagashi, the Japanese art of floating ink. He roams Lausanne in an Opel or on foot (though no longer on a skateboard, given his advancing age and the city’s dangerous streets) to cover torn or blank posters with Indian ink. An independent cultural mediator and stage manager in his spare time, he no longer seeks coherence.
Valérie Rossetti is fascinated by writing, calligraphy and the trace of ink. Her artistic practice constitutes an exploration of means of expression and impression, where writing gradually moves away from its communicative function to enter the realm of the illegible. Her brush glides across the page as if dancing, with lines and signs emerging in a unique visual language.
