Description

Magnificent walk through the rhododendron groves, taking in the Petits Lacs café and using the hillside track which offers such a splendid view of Les Mosses as you go down towards Lake Lioson. Return trip across the Pra-Cornet plateau.

From the departure point at the corner of the Tourist Office building in the centre of Les Mosses take the path which climbs up through the fields. When you get to the first intersection (road), take a left and follow the road until you get to the Lioson d’en Bas farm. If you’re a morning person you can even take part in the cheesemaking (from 08h50 to 09h15). Follow the trail which climbs up towards the car park, take a right after the reservoirand climb the steep and winding trail until you reach the Petits Lacs café. During the flowering season, admire the rhododendron groves and take a moment to enjoy refreshments at the café. Then rejoin the trail opposite the café to get back to Lake Lioson. Enjoy this location’s exceptional flora and magnificent views over the valley below. Here the Lioson restaurant and terrace give you the chance to sit down and imbibe the sheer beauty of your surroundings. Follow the left bank for 300m, then take a left along the pathway, direction Pra-Cornet. The trail skirts the hillside, then after a short climb in the forest, it opens out onto the slope overlooking Pra-Cornet. Continue along the path until Pra-Cornet farm, all the while enjoying the splendid scenery. Once at the farm turn left and follow the road going down towards Les Mosses. Shortly after your departure you will find the Charmilles café on your left. So as to avoid the concrete road, take the trail which goes off to the right 300m after the Charmilles fork and which goes down through the forest before reaching the road. Follow this to the left for about 250m then take the right fork in the road, cross the stream and continue on to Les Mosses.
