The mythical tower of Famelon - N° 9

Description
Sporty hike from Les Fers. Climb through a scree to the Col de Famelon, with a view of the "lapiez" of Truex. Climb to the top of the sphinx-like tower, with a 360° view. Return by the same route.
The hike starts from the restaurant des Fers, which is accessible by car. It is of course possible to start on foot from Leysin, in which case it takes about 1h30 to reach Les Fers. From Les Fers, the climb is through a scree towards the Famelon tower. You gradually approach the "sphynx", which becomes more and more impressive as you climb. After 40 minutes, at the intersection, continue towards the Famelon tower and 30 minutes later, you reach the Col de Famelon. Here you can admire the beautiful geological formations and with a bit of luck spot some chamois. Another 15 minutes of effort brings you to the top of the Famelon tower where you are rewarded by the view. The return journey takes the same route to the restaurant des Fers, which is happy to welcome you for refreshments.
