The ascent of La Videmanette from the Martigny mountain pasture

Description
Take your courage in both hands and walk along the Videmanette hiking trail to the top of the lifts. You'll be able to take in the view.
Your starting point is the centre of the village of Rougemont. Leave the inhabited streets to join the footpaths! The route takes you to the top of the Videmanette following the cable car. Once you have reached the halfway point, you will be at the level of the Martigny mountain pasture. A few cows watch you walk while enjoying the fresh mountain grass. Behind you, the village of Rougemont becomes smaller and smaller. The path becomes less and less wide. You arrive at a small pass between the Rocher Plat and the Rocher Ă Pointes. Use the chain to climb between the rocks. The last climb is ahead of you! But after the effort of the climb, you are rewarded by the breathtaking natural scenery. From your location you can reach the arrival of the cable car or discover the Videman pass, a real natural jewel. After a good hike, sit on the terrace of the Videmanette restaurant and enjoy a cool drink! If you are lucky, you may see some animals.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION - possibility to use the cable cars during July and August - dogs are not recommended - in summer, temperatures can be relatively hot on the route ACCESS - by car : you can leave your car at the station car park or at the cable car departure - by train: via the MOB line from Montreux and Zweisimmen (stop "Gare de Rougemont")
