Description

Put on your snowshoes or cross-country skis from the hamlet of Gérignoz to the mythical Sarouche hut at 1,500m. The climb is not easy, but you will be rewarded by the winter scenery along the way.

Warm up before tackling the big climb of 3.5 km and 600 m of ascent. The hike takes you through forests and snowy pastures to Pra Perron, the former intermediate station of the La Braye domain. The summit of the Montagnette is not far away. From here, there is a magnificent view of the village of Château-d'Œx. It looks very far away and very small from here. Above, the mountain range is much less discreet! An essential stage of your hike is the Sarouche hut. This place, where time seems to stand still, is perfect for a gourmet break! Sit in the sun on the large panoramic terrace or warm up by the fire with a tasty meal. To get back down, the route follows the Route des Forts. If you look closely at the rock, small doors will reveal themselves to you! This is where the Swiss army built a labyrinth of forts in the mountain to guard and protect the area. Continue your descent through the forest to the starting point. If you walk quietly through the fresh snow, you may have a surprise encounter. Between the fir trees live cute little white hares. the route is on Suisse Mobile number 459
