Description

Scex-Rouge - Quille du Diable - Sanetsch

The magnificent "Ice and Water" hike follows the source of the Saane and leads from the top station of the Scex Rouge via the Quille du Diable glacier to the Sanetsch Pass and the Sanetsch Lake. Enjoy the unique views and impressions of the world of ice and water during a walk of about five hours. The varied flora and fauna in the midst of a rocky landscape with cracks in the rock are full of surprises. The Valais Alps, Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn form an extraordinary backdrop. Depending on the conditions, the hike is possible from July to September. In summer, it is possible to make a loop by taking the Glacier 3000 facilities to Scex Rouge, then walk to Sanetsch, take the Sanetsch - Innergsteig gondola, walk 20 minutes to the Gsteig bus stop, and take the postal bus back to Col du Pillon. During busy periods there may be a long wait to get back down to Gsteig. Arriving later than 3.40 pm at the Sanetsch does not guarantee the possibility to take the last bus to the Col du Pillon.
