Route Information
Description
This walk is particularly suitable for families with small children and those still in pushchairs. The tarmac road, which is not very busy with cars, allows you to enjoy the view of the Mosses plateau. This easy walk is also very suitable for elderly people.
From the departure point, located right outside the Tourist Office building in the centre of Les Mosses, walk in front of the Relais Alpin Hotel then follow the tarmac road on your left until you reach the crossroads. Once here, take a left and follow along this road. At the end of the flat stretch, the road takes a right turn. Take this direction to get to the upper village. Allow 5 minutes for the climb to this point. At the junction, take the flat road which goes off to the right. Take a moment to enjoy the wonderful views looking down onto the resort, over the Dents du Midi mountains and along the chain of mountains comprising the Mont d’Or, the Gros Van and the Dorchaux which will appear just to your right. After a few minutes walk along the flat, the road starts to go downhill and will take you under the first of two bridges. Count another 2 minutes walk before arriving at the next junction. At this point, keep going along the village road which bends to the right. Pass under the second bridge to get back to the original junction from where you set out. Complete the circuit by returning to the village.
