Description
During a stay in the Chablais vaudois in Switzerland, it is possible to discover the mysterious forests of Lavey-Morcles and its flora thanks to the "Flower Walks" application.
This itinerary, starting from Lavey-les-Bains, leads you to discover the flowers along the paths of the region and the mysterious forests of Lavey-Morcles. This forest with gnarled pubescent oaks (Quercus pubescens), broad-leaved lime trees (Tilia platyphyllos) and male dogwoods (Cornus mas) has a fairytale atmosphere. Be careful not to be tempted to pick wild flowers and to behave appropriately in the face of the wild animals that may be present. In addition to the undeniable beauty of the landscape, you can contemplate some varieties of flowers at the bend in the path such as the aceras anthropophorum and the black columbine (Aquilegia atrata) On the way to the Grand Bois du Ban, we invite you to linger at the edge of the Lovers' Pond to marvel at this living nature. The icing on the app's cake: as soon as you approach the plant, the portrait of the species appears on your mobile phone. You can learn to recognise wild plants in nature through short, interesting stories and photos. Dynamic and fun, the application allows users to interact with the plants as they approach them and get valuable information to easily identify them at the side of the road. With a photo gallery, the plants are listed and displayed on your phone screen using the GPS function. This trail is the work of the Commune of Lavey-Morcles and the regional non-profit association "Alpes Vivantes", which manages projects to enhance the nature of the Vaud Alps. This trail was created with the aim of highlighting the natural, landscape and historical heritage of our region.
Practical Information
- Accessible from April to October - Duration: about 3 hours between Lavey-les-Bains and Lavey-village (Possibility to do several stages) ACCESS : - The departure and arrival of the hike are located in Lavey-les-Bains, accessible by bus from the St-Maurice train station. TIPS : - Start the tour counter-clockwise to start with the steep climb. - Bring comfortable shoes. - Relax in the magical setting of the Lavey Baths at the end of this hike RESTAURATION : - Le National restaurant in Lavey-Village - The restaurant La Table des Bains, Lavey-les-Bains - Restaurant Eurest, Restaurant Savatan
