Description

This hour-long walk through the micro-climate of Chablais takes you past the vineyards and into the Mediterranean-like forest with its stone pine.

Start at Ollon station or the village parking lot, head in the direction of Aigle. Climb up through the vineyards until you come to the hamlet of Verschiez where the vintners will be happy to let you sample some of the local wines. Then make your way towards Panex; 500 metres after Verschiez follow the signs back to Ollon. Along the way enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere provided by the pines of Provence which are gradually re-growing into a forest after the disastrous fire of 1998. All along this stretch you can marvel at the exceptional view over the Rhone valley and the massif of the Dents du Midi.
