Description

This itinerary, starting from l'Etivaz, takes you to a place that is not well known to the majority of people. Located at 1'900m, the small lake of "la Fenêtre d'Arnon" is a real paradise between heaven and earth! Perfect for good hikers looking for an escapade...

L'Etivaz, the village of the famous AOP alpine cheese, is your starting point. Take the direction of "Fond de l'Etiv" as the locals call it thanks to the asphalted road. The first part of the route climbs gently through the forest and runs close to the Torneresse river. A few cows greet you on your way? You must not be far from the Pâquier-Mottier mountain pasture. During the summer season, it is here that our farmers make the alpine cheese L'Etivaz AOP! Now it's time for the active part of the hike! It's time to leave the road and follow this small mountain path. With a difference in altitude of 450m, walk up in a zig-zag through the forest before arriving at the Grand Clé mountain pasture. Take a break to admire the panoramic view! The last but not the least part is waiting for you... Another 20 minutes of hiking and you are in paradise! The water reflects the blue of the sky and the clouds. Enough to make you dream and forget the time! The place is perfect for a little snack break. Photography lovers can also have fun capturing the different reflections for a magical effect. The return journey to the village of Etivaz follows the same route. But for the more sportive, there are two alternatives: - walk to the Arnon lake and return by car from Feutersoey. - join the Pas de Sazième and go back down by the Molaire to the Pâquier-Mottier mountain pasture.
