Description

This sporty hike starts at Lac Retaud near the Col du Pillon. You pass by Isenau and its alpine chalets, then follow a steep path to reach the summit of La Para at 2540 metres. The view from this summit is 360° on all the surrounding peaks.

At Retaud lake, take the footpath to Isenau. From Isenau, follow the road for about 200 metres and then the footpath towards La Crua and continue to Metreile. From Metreile, walk up the steep path to Arpille, then continue to the top of the Para. Before reaching the Para, ibex and marmots walk along the path to the delight of walkers. From the summit, the path descends to the Col du Seron, then to Arpille. Continue on the narrow path on the hillside below the summit of La Chaux to the Chalet d'alpage d'Isenau. In this alpine chalet, discover local products (cheese, serac, etc). Continue to the Marnèche refreshment bar, whose terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Diablerets massif. Finally, follow the path back to your starting point at Retaud Lake.

TRANSPORT - Postbus from Les Diablerets railway station to Col du Pillon then Diablobus from Col du Pillon to Lake Retaud (during the Free Access Card period). - By car from les Diablerets to Lake Retaud - Free parking at Col du Pillon and Lake Retaud. A FEW TIPS - Plan your walk (route, length, weather). - Dress appropriately: sturdy footwear (climbing boots preferable), suitable clothing and wet weather gear - Take sufficient food and drinks. - First aid kit - Be attentive to changes in weather - Do not trample on grass or crops - Close all gates behind you - Put out fires, and do not make fires in the event of drought - Take your rubbish with you - If in doubt, turn back early
