Description

This 9.9km route from Château-d'Œx takes you to Rougemont via a small alpine bar. The perfect place for a well-deserved break before heading to the village of Rougemont, an architectural gem.

From the centre of Château-d'Œx, follow the signs to the "Mont" and the hiking trails. Once on the heights of the village, you can follow the path in the direction of Rougemont. A few cows greet you on your way? You should not be far from the alpine refreshment bar "Les Serpentheys". Once there, enjoy a well-deserved break with a traditional dish. It's time to continue your itinerary and tackle the last climb to the Pont des Ciernes Picat. This is when you have to be careful not to slip as the path is steep. You are now at the highest point at 1'094 metres, the perfect altitude to observe the Rübli directly opposite and the Gummfluh to your right. After enjoying the view, walk down to the village of Rougemont and visit this piece of paradise before taking the train back in the desired direction.
