Description

This hiking route offers freshness and greenery even on the hottest summer days. You follow the Avançon gorges which wind between rocky walls shaped by the water of the torrent and luxuriant vegetation. The itinerary starts at La Peuffeyre and leads to Les Plans-sur-Bex (can be done in both directions).

Follow this bucolic path which winds along the stream before entering the Avançon gorges. All around you are superb rock faces. The Avançon de Nant has its source in the Vallon de Nant at the foot of the Glacier des Martinets. The river descends towards Pont-de-Nant, passing through Les Plans-sur-Bex and Frenières where it meets the waters of the Ivouette. You pass on an impressive footbridge above the gorges. Sensations and freshness guaranteed. On arrival at Les Plans-sur-Bex, you can continue to Pont-de-Nant and visit the Thomasia alpine botanical garden.
