Your starting point is the MOB station in Rossinière. Before starting your tour, download the VoiceMap application and select the Rossinière walk. Thanks to the GPS location of your phone, Alexandre will guide you, step by step, through the streets of the village. Press "play" and start your tour! Your first stop is the Grand Chalet de Rossinière, the haven of peace of the famous painter Balthus and his widow, Countess Setsuko Klossowska de Rola. This chalet exceeds all superlatives: 500 m2 of floor space, 5 floors, 113 windows, a dedication painted on the front of 2800 letters. It is the largest habitable wooden house in Switzerland. Follow your guide's directions to your second stop: La Maison de la Place, built in 1664. On the way, Alexandre will introduce you to this village in the Vaud Alps with a few historical facts. Did you know that Rossinière was a Bernese village before it became part of the canton of Vaud? Then climb the stairs to the famous Romanesque church, dedicated to St Marie Madeleine. Dating from 1316, it is the first building registered in Rossinière. From the old oak tree, the view allows you to discover the lake of Vernex with the Dent de Corjon in the background, the emblematic mountain of Rossinière. Alexandre brings you back to the centre of the village on "la Placette" before finishing your guided walk at the Balthus Chapel. This former protestant church is now a dedicated space to the memory of Balthus.
