Description

Challenge yourself to climb the Roc d'Orsay on this steep and short ski touring route from the Roc d'Orsay cable car in Villars.

This route starts from the lower station of the Roc d'Orsay cable car. Follow the pylons for the first kilometre. Depending on the snow conditions, you may have to take off your shoes and cross one or two paths. Then join the Bouquetins track and follow it briefly, then turn left and join the Tailles road. Cross the road and join the Roc d'Orsay, an area well known to regulars and requiring precautions if the snow is icy. Take a break at the Roc d'Orsay restaurant, watch the sun sink into the horizon before heading back down to Villars via the pistes.

Practical Information

ACCESS TO THE START OF THE ITINERARY The departure is located at the base station of the Roc d'Orsay gondola. Enter the gondola building (1st floor) and go up to the start of this route. There is a large car park at the foot of the cable car (free at night). SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT The Rando Parc Dynafit only be used by people who have the necessary technique, physical condition and equipment. The routes are signposted but not secured, you use them at your own risk. There are no lifeguards patrolling the slopes at any time. The slopes are closed outside of lift operating hours (before 8.30am and after 5pm). Presence of grooming machines with traction cables - danger of death! The Villars Tourist Office and Dynafit accept no responsibility for accidents. Please follow the safety instructions. Avoid any waste, respect nature and the owners of the land used. The forest is a quiet area for wildlife, stay on the marked trails.
