Description

This hike will take you through varied landscapes, the pretty village of Panex and the no less charming village of Ollon surrounded by vineyards.

From the Villars cable car, head towards Les Ecovets along the Chavasses trail. At Ecovets, take the time to admire the magnificent view of Lake Geneva. You then follow the road and the forest path in the direction of Panex. After the village, you take the direction of Ollon, crossing in turn green pastures and forest paths. At the end of the walk, you cross the vineyards of Ollon which lead you to the village. The return to Villars is possible by bus on the regular Aigle-Villars line.

Practical Information

TRANSPORT: - The regular Aigle-Villars line (144), allows you to return to the Villars cable car every hour. PARKING: - Parking at the Villars cable car (Roc d'Orsay). A FEW TIPS: - Plan your walk (route, length, weather). - Make sure you’ve got the right equipment; sturdy footwear (climbing boots preferably), suitable clothing and protection from bad weather - Take sufficient food and drink. - Bring a first aid kit. - Be attentive to changes in weather - Close all gates behind you - Put out fires and refrain from lighting fires in dry conditions - Take your rubbish with you
