Société Vinicole de Bex

Description

The village of Bex is located in the Chablais region and its commune stretches from the banks of the Rhône to the summit of the Diablerets at 3,209m. The Société Vinicole de Bex was founded in 1905 and has over 70 members.

Bex is the third largest municipality in the canton of Vaud and is characterised by a variety of landscapes and a palette of colours, each more dazzling than the next. The vineyards of Bex, one of the appellations of the district of Aigle, are divided into 3 hillsides: "Le Montet", "Chiètres" and "Le Chêne". Its soil is known to be chalky and gypsum. At the gateway to the Valais, under the influence of the foehn, the microclimate of the region allows the vineyard to blossom fully and produce a characteristic vintage whose reputation extends far beyond the borders of the commune. The Société Vinicole de Bex is one of the only associations in the canton of Vaud that receives more red wine than white.
