Ski touring in La Pare / La Para

Description

Discover the beauty and peace of the mountains on this challenging route! Experience the mountains formerly known as the three "T's". With ascents and wonderful descents, Tornette (La Pare), Tarent and Taron (Châtillon) offer a popular stomping ground for demanding touring skiers.

La Pare is a high peak in the Vaud Alps. It is situated at 2539 m above sea level, on the mountain range that separates Les Diablerets in the south from the Pays-d'Enhaut. The tour starts from the village of l'Etivaz, capital of the alpine cheese L'Etivaz AOP. Start your route by warming up with a false flat that follows the river Torneresse. You will leave civilization behind after passing the alp of Pâquier-Mottier. Before you lies a stretch of path in the middle of untouched nature and to your right, the Arpilles peaks take shape. Continue to climb towards Seron and the pass of the same name at 2153 m. Hikers who do not want to make the challenging ascent to the summit "La Pare", can turn back here and return to the village along the same route. After walking very carefully along the ridge, you are almost on top of the world! From your location, enjoy the panoramic view of the Vaud Alps. Finish the route with a moment of pure pleasure: the descent! This is done by the same route as the ascent.
