La Filature de l'Avançon

From shearing to knitting, the wool is prepared from start to finish by the passionate members of the association La Filature de l'Avançon.
Since 2017, the association has been preparing the wool throughout the process. From the partnership with the breeders to the knitting, the stages are carried out by the passionate members and are the subject of demonstration workshops where everyone can participate and learn the gestures to sort, card and spin the wool. The aim of the association is to promote local wool out of respect for our environment, to contribute to the life of a rural valley by means of commercial exchanges that are adapted to and anchored in their environment, to revitalise the links between the inhabitants, to open up to interested parties, to create a platform for exchange between professionals of the mountain trades, to develop each of the stages of the wool processing industry locally, to pass on know-how by organising educational visits.
