Gryon Roman Catholic church

Description

The parish of Villars-Gryon, born from the merger of the two separate parishes of Villars and Gryon covers the high plateau of the commune of Ollon and includes specifically Villars, Chesières, Huemoz and Arveyes as well as the commune of Gryon.

Whilst situated in the canton of Vaud, it is part of the Sion diocese. In 2008, of a resident population of 4200 people, 1233 were of Catholic faith. The community grows significantly during the summer and winter seasons with the arrival of tourists from all around the world. Mass is held in Gryon church every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 18h00. The parish is served by a team of priests and lay-preachers from the Aigle deanery. Our brothers of the Reformed Church are organised in two parishes, one in Ollon, the other in Gryon.
