Fishing - get a licence

Description

In the heart of a rugged alpine setting, no pastime could be more peaceful than fishing in mountain lakes. Both amateur and experienced fishermen adore the mountain lakes and rivers for the purity of their waters and the tranquillity of the environment.

The mountain lakes in the region of Leysin, Les Mosses and La Forclaz have an excellent reputation for fishing. The lakes of Lioson, Hongrin and Chavonnes are brimming with fish as are the numerous mountain streams that are fed by the melting snows. The awe-inspiring setting boasts a breathtaking panoramic view over the surrounding mountains. Fishing is not the area’s only activity however. This is a region ideal for mountain hikes and picnics after you’ve finished teasing the fish. Lake and river fishing in the mountains are both regulated and a fishing permit is obligatory. Fishermen can easily buy these permits from their local tourist office.

Practical Information

Fishing on mountain lakes is prohibited on Fridays, and is regulated.
