Col de la Croix Alpine Pastures

The Col de la Croix alpine pastures on the Col de La Croix road, half-way between Villars and Les Diablerets, are not to be missed.

Up there, on the Col de la Croix mountain pasture, you can visit the cheese dairy (mornings only) and watch the cheese being made at around 9.00 am, to discover the traditional skills of the craftsmen. Come and enjoy an excellent breakfast with products from the Col de la Croix farm (from mid-June to the end of August) from 8.30am to 10.30am, for children up to 12 years old CHF 1.00 per age group. Products from the mountain pastures can be purchased on site: - Fresh or smoked serac cheese - Tommes - Etivaz PDO (made in 2022) - Double cream - Raclette cheese - Plain yoghurt - Petit La Croix (from the end of July) - Reblocroix (from the end of July) Visitors can see the hens, donkeys, goats, calves, suckler cows and pigs around the Chalet.

Practical Information

The refreshment stall will be serving light refreshments: - Cheese board - Cheese board with salami and dried meat - Fondue (groups must book before 4pm the day before) - Grape tart - Meringues and double cream Raclette is also available for groups of 8 or more, by prior arrangement, and on Sundays for lunchtime service, with skewers and salad (prior arrangement by 6pm on Fridays). Cyclists can recharge their electric bikes at the station.
