Visit to the Farm
Description
Come and share a moment of life on the farm, in the company of Mr and Mrs Turrian. You will have an appointment at milking time to discover this daily task, discuss with the farmers and stroke the animals. You can even enjoy a glass of fresh milk and taste their alpine cheese L'Etivaz.
Brigitte and Rodolphe Turrian live in the commune of Rougemont. In winter, their cows are on the farm in the village. The milk produced until the end of December is deposited at the Fleurette cheese dairy for the production of the cheese of the same name. From January to May, the milk is deposited at the Laiterie de Flendruz. In summer, the cattle go up to the mountain pastures (Ciernes Gonseth or Chalet les Pra). The milk is used to produce L'Etivaz cheese. They milk their cows twice a day and collect between 30 and 40 litres of milk!
