For 4 days, Villars will welcome the world's ski mountaineering elite for one of the stages of the World Cup.

Now a truly recognised winter sport, ski mountaineering continues to gain ground, both in terms of the number of enthusiasts and the number of races held each season, not to mention the reputation of its most prestigious athletes. On the programme: THE SPRINT: Friday 2 February 2024 This is the shortest ski mountaineering event. It's all about gliding, manipulation, portage, conversions, descents, climbs and strategies. The best skiers complete the circuit in under 3 minutes. - The competition will take place from 9am to 12pm on the Stade piste (Chaux-Ronde ski area) opposite the Bretaye 1808 restaurant. - Award Ceremony: 5.30pm on the Place du Marché in Villars LE RELAIS-MIXTE: Saturday 3 February 2024 This is an event in which each team member must complete a sprint-type circuit lasting around 15 minutes with two climbs and two descents. - The competition will take place from 9am to 12pm on the Stade track (Chaux-Ronde estate). - Awards Ceremony: 17:30 Place du Marché, Villars Sunday 4 February will be a scouting day for the individual races on the following day. They will therefore have no race on that day. INDIVIDUAL: Monday 5 February 2024 The individual course is an endurance event offering athletes a varied course comprising climbs, descents and two portages. - The competition will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The start will be along the slope leading down to Villars just below the start of the Grand Chamossaire chairlift. The finish will be at the same place as the Sprint and the Mixed Relay on the Stade slope next to the Villars Ski Club chalet. - Award Ceremony: 1pm-2pm Place de Bretaye
