Paragliding is an activity reserved for licensed pilots and is undertaken at their own risk, whilst respecting the environment. For your first time, we recommend that you book a course with a paragliding school or a professional pilot.

Where can you go paragliding in the Alpes Vaudoises ?

Villars – Gryon
Villars – Gryon

The Villars–Gryon area has five launch sites, all easily accessible by public transport – a real advantage for both independent pilots and visitors. Easy access to all the launch sites is one of the destination’s key strengths, particularly the Curnaux site, which also has a nearby car park for paragliding school shuttle buses.

With six paragliding schools in the area, Villars – Gryon offers a wide range of options for those looking to try the sport for the first time with a tandem flight or to start a training course. From the air, passengers can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and the valley.

Leysin
Leysin

In Leysin, the various launch sites converge on a central point: the top station of the Berneuse cable car. This easy and convenient access makes it a particularly popular spot, both for solo pilots and for tandem flights.

The cable car is open almost all year round and offers a special rate for paragliders, making it easier to organise flights. With two active schools in the area, Leysin offers the chance to try paragliding on a tandem flight or to take lessons in piloting.

The site’s greatest asset is, of course, the exceptional view of Leman Lake, which can be seen from certain take-off points and is even more impressive once in flight.

Les Diablerets
Les Diablerets

With three launch sites and two schools in the area, Les Diablerets stands out in particular for its launch site at Glacier 3000, the highest launch site in the Alpes Vaudoises.

This iconic spot offers a unique experience, combining a visit to the glacier, a walk along the famous Peak Walk by Tissot and a paragliding flight. It is the perfect place for introductory tandem flights, with spectacular scenery and access available almost all year round thanks to the cable car, which runs daily except during the annual maintenance period in mid-October.

Bex
Bex

The Bex area offers three take-off sites: Les Verneys, La Croix de Javerne and Pré-Fleuri.

More rugged and firmly geared towards sport flying, this area is primarily aimed at licensed and experienced pilots rather than beginners. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, these sites offer a complete immersion in a peaceful and unspoilt environment.

The area is managed by a local club, which is responsible for the site and the activities offered there. Accessible on foot from public transport, the various launch sites appeal to pilots seeking peace and quiet. The lack of ski lifts is more than made up for by the tranquillity and authenticity of the natural surroundings.
