The legends and folktales of the Alpes Vaudoises take centre stage in the 2026–2027 edition of the outdoor exhibition entitled “Villars Sera Contes”. Located on Avenue Centrale in Villars, opposite the pharmacy, this outdoor exhibition invites visitors and locals alike to discover the stories that bring the region’s heritage and imagination to life. The 14 panels can be enjoyed free of charge until the end of summer 2027.
Discover 12 tales and legends of the Alpes Vaudoises through stories passed down from generation to generation, featuring mysterious characters, fantastical creatures and fascinating events. These stories reflect the local traditions and imagination that have shaped the region’s history.
To enhance your discovery, each panel features a symbol illustrating the themes explored in the tale. These visual cues offer a glimpse into the story before you start reading or listening to it.

Each panel features a QR code that lets you listen to the corresponding tale, narrated by a storyteller. The recordings are available in French and English, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in these captivating stories.
Want to make the experience last a little longer? A brochure containing the full collection of tales and legends is also available free of charge from the Villars Tourist Office, just a few steps from the exhibition. Take it with you to revisit these stories whenever you like and share them with others. A QR code in the brochure also provides access to the audio recordings, so you can listen to the tales wherever you are.
Whether you are visiting Villars or live in the region, this exhibition invites you to rediscover the intangible heritage of the Alpes Vaudoises and immerse yourself in the stories that fuel its imagination.
