The kingdom of cats

In memory of the famous painter Balthus who lived in Rossinière and who loved cats so much that he made them the heroes of several paintings, including "Le Roi des chats" (1935), the village of Rossinière is transformed into a veritable kingdom of cats during the whole summer! From the lower part of the village to the upper part, follow in the footsteps of these feline sculptures that sit proudly between two houses or under a tree.

Equipped with your guide, discover these works of art made of wood, metal or even fabric created especially for the exhibition. Throughout the summer, you will also have the opportunity to vote for your favourite cat to be crowned "King of Cats" ! The winner will receive the Sceptre made by Miss Harumi Klossowski de Rola, daughter of the famous painter Balthus.
