Concert by François Vé at the Château de la Roche

‘Arbres’, François Vé's new album, is the result of four months spent at Chalet de Pierre in the Vaud Jura, an alpine pasture at an altitude of 1,551 metres. This opus is an expression of a desire to make music differently, more simply.

Produced largely using the solar system on his cargo bike (which he uses to travel on tour), the album is imbued with altitude, cows, fir trees, calm and a few storms. It is a feeling of travel with its uncertainties, its great joys and its moments of solitude that lie behind twelve songs. Three of them are written in Bärndütsch, Rumantsch and Italian.

The album can be discovered in written form in a calendar: twelve photos taken on location accompany the lyrics of the twelve tracks.

On stage, the songs take on a pared-down form: a guitar, a bass drum suitcase, a piano and a voice. The show is punctuated by moments of respite, in the form of three short films projected on Super 8 film.
