CANCELLED - Gryon Desalpe festival

It was with regret that the organisers have had to come to the decision that the Gryon Desalpe Festival (originally scheduled for 20 September 2025) will not take place this year.

Due to the heatwave that struck at the beginning of the summer, farmers have found themselves in a situation where, three weeks before the date of the désalpe, the pastures no longer offer enough food for their herds, which has forced them to descend separately ahead the scheduled date.

This decision is reinforced by the recommendations of the cantonal authorities in response to the epidemic of nodular dermatosis affecting certain regions of Switzerland and neighbouring France, which urge people to avoid large gatherings of animals.

Respect for animals is the basis for the organisation of this festival, and the organisers have taken this decision in line with this respect and in solidarity with the farmers, who are very vulnerable, both to this epidemic and to the consequences of climate change.
